Everyone knows that a pressure washer can be a very useful tool. However, not everyone knows that a pressure washer can be used for sandblasting! By using a simple attachment, you can turn the abrasive power up to its maximum. When you are doing one of those big jobs that require serious removal of material, sandblasting can’t be beaten. With that in mind, let’s take a look at our top five picks for the best pressure washer sandblasting kits.

This pressure washing kit is probably the toughest and most heavy-duty tool on my list. When you take one look at this thing, you can see that it’s built to last. You can also see that it’s not meant for low-power applications. If you tried to use it for a small project or a light-duty project, you might end up with a mess on your hands.
Everything about this product looks tough. The wands and adapters are made of stainless steel and solid brass, so you don’t really need to worry about breakage. While I’m talking about durability, I should mention the reinforced hose. The entire length is impregnated with metal ribs that keep the hose from being able to kink and bend.
To be honest, the less-flexible nature of the hose is both a blessing and a curse. While the toughness is a very large positive, this hose just isn’t as flexible as most others. It is kind of hard to maneuver it around, which can lead to reduced control. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the hose is so short. Still, this isn’t the tool for precision work anyway.
This one can handle pressures up to 5000 PSI, which makes it the strongest sandblaster kit on the list by a significant margin. This is great when you consider the fact that this kit is not all that expensive. You probably won’t find a pressure washer kit that offers more power than this one. Although the hose is kind of short, this big beast can handle any job that you might need to be done.
This one is a heavy-duty sandblasting kit, much like my previous choice. However, this one comes with an 18-foot suction hose. Because of this, we have to give it some major points in the convenience department. Not only that, but this hose is a lot more flexible as well. Without those stiff metal ribs, this one bends in a manner similar to that of a garden hose. It’s stiff enough to hold up to repeated abuse, but still reasonably flexible.
This sandblaster kit can handle pressures up to 4000 PSI, making it almost as powerful as our first choice. Of course, not all jobs require such pressure. As such, these high-powered hoses could become a waste of money for some people. If your needs are light, this isn’t the model for you.
Simple And Tough
I don’t see any plastic fittings here, only solid brass. This thing really does get high marks for durability, although there is a downside to its design. Because of the all-metal design, it can be pretty hard to adjust the tool. Screwing and unscrewing it from its mount can also be a little more problematic. Those without strong hands may have to resort to a pair of pliers or vice grips. That’s a good solution, but it presents the risk of mangling that relatively soft brass. Thus, we would advise you to use your hands whenever possible.
Still, I really like the tungsten carbide nozzle, as it provides high-quality metal in a location where it is sorely needed. Since this kind of steel is also resistant to corrosion, it makes a lot of sense to use it for this part. It would be nice if the hose could be removed for easier cleaning, but that’s not a big deal.
High-Quality, But Not For Everyone
Overall, this is an amazingly effective sandblasting kit. It is made with both toughness and convenience in mind, and that is a rare combo. Still, it’s one of the more expensive kits on this list. Therefore, it’s a good choice for those who need a serious tool, and a bad choice for people on a budget.
This is probably the most serious tool on my list…or at the very least, it is certainly the most expensive. In spite of its high price, we can see where the extra money goes when we take a closer look. We have range, durability, power and precision in one package.
Another Long Snake
This one has an 18-foot hose like our last choice, which means that it enjoys a more comfortable range. You don’t have to be so tightly tethered to your pressure washer tank, allowing you to move around more freely. This can be very helpful for big jobs because you won’t have to move the tank so often.
The hose is transparent but thick, which causes it to lose a little bit of flexibility. Still, it should be fine for just about any purpose. This hose has a pretty wide diameter, allowing it to move a lot of sand at one time.
Uses A Lot Of Sand
Due to its higher-capacity hose, this kit uses a little more sand than the average model. There isn’t really anything you can do about that aspect of it, as it is the natural price of a larger sandblasting tool. Of course, you can use your suction hose to recycle and re-use a lot of your sand, but there are limits to the amount that can be recovered.
In spite of being so expensive, this one cannot handle pressures above 3500 PSI. Although that isn’t weak by any means, I would expect a little bit more from such an expensive product. If you are trying to do something really serious (like stripping cars, for instance), this one might not be worth its price.
According to both the manufacturer and most reviewers, this sandblaster kit does a good job of handling whatever sandblasting material you might choose. Obviously, natural sand is the most common material, but some people prefer to use specialized silica sand. Some others prefer to use baking soda, steel filings, or even glass beads! You might be truly surprised at the materials that can be used for blasting, and this product should let you use all of them.
This is perhaps the simplest kit that I have seen so far. It is one of two kits on the list that cost far less than the others. We can see that this product is made of cheaper materials than our other options, but its exceptional value factor is more than enough to make up for that problem. To save money on production costs, this model was made to utilize ceramic nozzles. It might be a cheap solution, but it seems to be a good one.
Strength Without Stiffness
I have seen many products of this type, and many of them suffer from this basic problem: The better the hose, the less flexible it will be. In this model, we see a hose that is relatively strong. It can handle up to 3000 PSI, which is a lot less than some of the high-end models. Still, it’s very impressive for a product in this price range.
This power range is even more impressive when we consider the fact that this product contains some plastic parts. Most of the high-PSI models do not have that, so we can see that this thing was designed by a competent individual. It’s also really nice to see that the company offers a money-back guarantee. Still, with such a cheap product, I would question if the guarantee is even worth using.
A Few Limitations
While this product is quite good for its class, there are still a few limitations that should be noted. First, you only get a ten-foot hose with this thing. Although that is long enough to do the job, a short hose can have a problem with constantly lifting out of the sand bucket. I also find that the fittings holding the hose in place are just not that strong. It is entirely too easy to remove the hose, and we wonder if that factor will get worse with continued wear and tear.
Our second bargain model is a lot like the first. Indeed, it would be easy to mix these products up at first glance. However, this one isn’t quite as tough as the first. Overall, this is still a decent example of a budget product. What it lacks in power and durability it makes up for in convenience.
Easy To Use
Everything about this kit is easy. The fittings are meant to connect everything quickly and easily, and the device itself is extremely lightweight. You won’t have to worry too much about the hose getting twisted and kinked, as it is very flexible. Overall, I find this product to be a great choice for light-duty blasting. Small jobs don’t require a big tool, so this would be a great solution for small-scale work.
Likewise, it seems very easy to clean this sandblaster. Once the job is done, the device comes clean with a quick rinse. There is generally no need to disassemble anything or otherwise get your hands dirty.
A Light-Duty Tool
Although this isn’t a bad choice for the hobbyist, this product would be a terrible choice for a professional. When I say “professional,” I mean someone who uses a sandblaster as part of their job. Using a tool like this every day would hasten its demise, so don’t use this for serious applications. It’s obviously meant to handle the smaller jobs, so don’t try to force it to fight outside its’ weight class.
Sandblasting might be an extreme solution, but it is often the only way to get rid of troublesome stains, dirt, rust, grime, coats, etc. I hope that I have given you a better understanding of this subject. In short, you need to make sure you buy a blaster kit that is powerful enough for your needs, durable enough to last a while, reliable enough to give you peace of mind, and convenient enough to avoid headaches. If any of that seems confusing, just use this article as a template for your next pressure washer sandblaster kit purchase, and you should have no problems.
